Wow there sure were a ton of freebies this week! This was mostly due to the awesomeness that is Michael Edward who decided to make all of his books free for a day which I definitely took advantage of. I only had one eBook that I won actually make it to me (though I won a couple that for some reason haven’t been emailed to me yet >.<) which was Shadowborn courtesy of a giveaway by Dark Obsession Chronicles.
I also had a few print books that I won arrive this week. I won Crank in the Banned Books Giveaway Hop at the Sarcasm and Lemons stop. I got Two and Twenty Dark Tales from a giveaway by Brenda Drake Writes. Finally, I got The Infects which I can’t wait to read (if I ever get to it) which I won from Ginger-read Reviews in the Zombpacolypse Trick or Treat Hop. By the way I was informed I won that on Halloween and it already showed up, way to be on top of sending your books out Ali! ^.^
A bunch of giveaways and hops ended since October has come and gone so I’ve got a few more print books that I can look forward to coming in the next week or two. It seems like I’ll never have a week without at least one or two which is just crazy, but awesome. Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope you find something in that list of books that interests you! Please feel free to leave comments about my post or with your own Stacking The Shelves, I do read them all and would love to see your hauls for this week! Enjoy your weekend!

I won Kiss of Steel from a giveaway by Tynga’s Reviews which will be part of my toe dip into the world of Steampunk books. I got A Whisper to a Scream from a giveaway the author did at her blog Bibliophilic Blather and it is signed as well! Finally, I won a 20$ gift card which I mentioned in my STS last week and I asked people to comment as to which books I should get. The amazing trio of young women book bloggers (more on them in a post soon so look for that) really liked the books you can see above which are Crewel, The Iron King (book 1 in the Iron Fey series) and Lucid. I can’t wait to read all of them as they look amazing and I was already really excited for Crewel! ^.^ I also got Entangled from Netgalley because it was a “Read Now” option at the time. I will be doing reviews of some of these though no guarantees on which or how many. =)
Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope you find something in that massive list of books that interests you! Please feel free to leave comments about my post or with your own Stacking The Shelves, I do read them all and would love to see your hauls for this week! Enjoy your weekend! 🙂

Broken City and The Promise by D.D. Chant were won thanks to Sarah Morton. Dark Dates by Tracey Sinclair was won over on Faye’s A Daydreamer’s Blog. The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by the amazing Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It is a chance to share news, recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

I’m really excited to read Dark Light of Day as I was able to read the first three chapters in an Ace/Roc sampler I won before it came out and it seems fantastic! You can likely expect a gushing review on that one unless something weird changes. =)
That’s all from me for this post, I hope the schedule for next week looks interesting and fun-filled enough for you to want to stop on by again! Follow me if you like via any of the usual methods, oh and comment! I read all the comments and if you have a Sunday Post feel free to link me up so I can check it out! The Reanimation of Edward Schuett by Derek J. Goodman
Yet again it has been a very good week for my book haul. ^.^ A big part of the freebie section was obviously Jeremy C. Shipp’s books so a big shout out and thank you go out to him for putting them for free the last week. Even though I did technically buy Dark Light of Day by Jill Archer it was done so with a 10$ Amazon gift card so it was basically free which is always awesome and it arrived yesterday just in time to add it to this post!
Now to break down all of the giveaway wins, oh boy. Laiden’s Daughter was from the Highlander Giveaway Hop and though that isn’t my usual genre by any means I thought it would be a good opportunity to expand my book tastes so I’ll give it a shot soonish. I won Janus courtesy of Suzanne Johnson over at Preternatura, she does a crazy number of giveaways each week and I finally won one from there, I can’t wait to dive into it! The Selkie Spell was from The (Mis)Adventures of a Twenty-Something Year Old Girl blog and I’m looking forward to trying that one out too. Both books by Rhiannon Frater were won thanks to a giveaway by Book Loving Mom and I’ll be reading those in the next few days thanks to being part of Fraterfest, those had scary good timing. o.o The Last Degree was won from a giveaway on Full Moon Bites Book Blog, I’ll be expanding my reading horizons with this one too. Finally, The Red Serpent Trilogy was won from one of my favorite blogs, Reading and Writing Urban Fantasy and I’ll be doing a review of that one either this week or the next.
I also got an ARC eBook of The Reanimation of Edward Schuett thanks to Derek J. Goodman in exchange for an honest review which I’ll be doing this coming week sometime. That was possible thanks to twitter, if you follow enough awesome bookish people stuff like that will just fall in your lap! ^.^
As you can see I’ve got a ton of books to read from this week, and a few of those which I’ll be reviewing. The horror ones I either have or will be reading almost all of during the next few days while I participate in Fraterfest so that will be pretty fun combing through that part of my TBR pile. That’s all from me for now, look for my Sunday Post tomorrow with next week’s schedule and a recap of what I did this week, and if you would like to please check out my other posts including my last review and the challenges I am participating in this weekend for Fraterfest! You can also follow me via the usual methods if you like what you see so you don’t miss any cool posts. As always thanks for reading and let me know what you got in the comments, I read every one! Enjoy your weekend! 🙂
Fraterfest Read-A-Thon
Fraterfest Read-A-Thon
Fraterfest Read-A-Thon is a fun way for bloggers to attack their TBR piles, specifically the books that contain “things that go bump in the night” (think vampires, zombies, werewolves, shapeshifters, ghosts, etc.) and is hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
If you want to participate you can click on the link above to learn more, if you’d rather not or you don’t have a blog you can participate on twitter by using the hashtag #FraterFest! There are going to be prizes over on Kimba’s blog for read-a-thon participants. In order to qualify as one you must post your goals and results and participate in a minimum of one challenge. You don’t have to have a blog for this, you can participate via Facebook , google+, goodreads, or a personal blog. The more detailed and up-to-date schedule will be released over on Kimba’s blog on the 5th but feel free to join up before then!
As for what I am going to do it will depend on what Kimba posts of course but I do plan on reading a few select books that fit rather well in this genre. I mentioned on my Sunday Post that I would be doing a review of Attic Clowns:Volume Two (I may add Volume One as I just got that for free today) and those fit in perfectly! I have a few more that I am considering which include the very popular freebie Sweet Venom, Here Be Monsters, Aberrations: Horror Stories, Zombified, Blood Singers, The Wicked and/or Monsters (The Bloodless). By the way Attic Clowns Volume One & Two are both free as are Sweet Venom, Here Be Monsters (today only!), Aberrations (today only!), and Zombified. Blood Singers is a dollar and The Wicked & Monsters (The Bloodless) are the standard 3$ if you wanted to purchase any of them!
I hope you will join me in Fraterfest and we can dive into some horror wonderment together! Until next time, thanks for reading, and leave comments! I read every one even if I don’t respond often and I do appreciate them!
Sparkles and Lightning 1000 Followers Giveaway
Sparkles and Lightning 1000 Followers Giveaway!
So last week I found the blog Sparkles and Lightning via a retweet of a contest they were having. One of the entries was following via GFC and when I did I happened to notice something pretty cool, I was the 1,000th follower! I quickly found the blogger, Annabelle, and informed her of her awesome milestone to which I believe squeals of excitement ensued. Anyway, she is now holding an amazing giveaway celebrating this achievement where TEN people will win the opportunity to choose not one, but TWO books each from The Book Depository! You can (and should) enter here http://sparkles-and-lightning.blogspot.com/2012/09/1000-followers-giveaway.html. Enjoy the giveaway and make sure to read her awesome posts and subscribe to her blog!

Stacking The Shelves
A quick reminder that Stacking The Shelves is a wonderful way that we can share books we’ve won, bought, or been gifted in either printed or eBook form. It is a weekly meme created by Tynga’s Reviews that is generally posted on Saturdays.
For stacking the shelves this week I sadly can not report any physical books to “stack” as the one I am waiting on (Blackhearted Betrayal by Kasey MacKenzie) hasn’t shown up yet. However, I did add to my eBook “stack” this week!
The Freebies
‘Scuse Me While I Kill This Guy by Leslie Langtry
‘Scuse Me While I Kill This Guy is about single mother Gin Bombay who happens to be an assassin from a long family line of killers. She is invited to a family reunion which is where all the craziness happens and everything goes downhill at a rapid rate. Gin’s five-year-old daughter must undergo a blood initiation to join and be bonded into the family legacy, Gin herself has been hired to eliminate a spy in the family which might be her brother, and one of her marks also just happens to be a client of her new boyfriend. Needless to say this book is action packed to the extreme!
Become (Desolation #1) by Ali Cross
Become (Desolation #1) centers on sixteen-year-old Desolation Black who enjoys Hell where she is isolated and cold but is forced to go to Earth instead. There she has to face all of the evils that are going on that she can’t stand and the good which completely freaks her out. She finds what she least expects to in this alien world, a friend, one that gives her a reason to change from the demon she is inside into something that may no longer resemble her father, Lucifer. I am thrilled to have found this for free and will be reading it shortly, most likely with a review to follow.
The Choice (Walk the Right Road) by Lorhainne Eckhart
The Choice (Walk The Right Road) is a fascinating book about Marcie who has a strong connection to the spiritual. She feels that she has a connection such as this with her boyfriend Dan but he distances himself right from the get go. After separating Marcie is waiting at an airport for her luggage when she is mugged, during which she forgets who she is. Luckily for Marcie a DEA agent named Sam witnessed the whole event and decides to care for her until she regains her memory. As they spend time together they develop feelings for each other, but when Marcie regains her memories will it tear them apart? The Choice seems like a nice easy read and I look forward to reading it if I can ever make it through my very large eBook TBR pile!
Giveaway Prize
Wish I Could Have Said Goodbye by Shari Brady
Wish I Could Have Said Goodbye is about a family who lost a loved one because of addiction. The story is told from sixteen-year-old Carmella’s point of view as she tries to overcome the loss of her older sister and move on with her life. The book is filled with emotion, really delving into what it is like to lose someone so close to you and all of the turmoil you deal with as you try, not to forget, but to accept the person you’ve lost is gone and to attempt to move on with your existence. I’ve heard many great things about this book and so I was thrilled when I found out that I won an eBook copy of Wish I Could Have Said Goodbye. I will definitely be doing a review of this one as well.
That is all for this week, thanks for stopping by and enjoy all of the other fabulous blogs as we join each other in Stacking The Shelves!
Stacking The Shelves
First off Stacking The Shelves is a wonderful way that we can share books we’ve received lately, generally within the past week and is a weekly meme begun by Tynga at Tynga’s Reviews! I’ve been fortunate enough lately to have won a few books; an Advanced Reading Copy (ARC) of Full Blooded by Amanda Carlson @amandaccarlson, an Ace/Roc Sampler which includes 2-3 chapters of 6 different books including Dark Light of Day by Jill Archer @archer_jill and Blackhearted Betrayal by Kasey MacKenzie @kaseymackenzie. So far I have received the first two and when I got my ARC of Full Blooded I got a surprise inside! Three Bookaholic Cat @BookaholicCat bookmarks! They have ribbon and beads people! Ribbon AND Beads! So ya I’m excited. 🙂
I fully recommend getting all of the books I mentioned and I will be reviewing Full Blooded as soon as I finish reading it…which is after I finish The Ups and Downs of Being Dead by Marsha Cornelius @marshacornelius…but I’m not busy or anything. Weeeee!
