Huzzah, another readathon is upon us! I am a big fan of Bout of Books, and this time it falls in a perfect spot, just a bit before college starts back up in the first week of September. It’s been a little while since I tried to do a readathon, and I do say try because it hasn’t gone well in recent times. However, this go around I’ve got specific books I want to get to and plenty of time to do so! Without further ado, my potential list of books that I’ll try to read most of! (The goal if I have one is 10+ books at least)

Bout of Books 9.0 Recap

Bout of Books

Well it was fun while it lasted, but this edition of the Bout of Books readathon is over! I hope you all had fun with the twitter chats, challenges, and bookish goodness this past week! For me it was a resounding success, easily the best I’ve done in one of these readathons so far. I read a total of twelve books (two of which were novellas) getting me to a total of just over 3,000 pages! I got to experience new authors, continue some series I love, and have a blast with the twitter chats. I didn’t do any challenges, but that’s fine, my focus was on ze books. Now, without further ado, here are the books I read!

Ready Player One by Ernest Cline – 5/5 – reviewed it here!

The Titan’s Curse by Rick Riordan – 5/5

The Distance Between Us by Kasie West – 5/5

Curtsies & Conspiracies by Gail Carriger – 5/5

Unhinged by A.G. Howard – 4/5 – reviewed it here!

Giggles by Michael Crane – 2/5 – reviewed it here!

Jenny Pox by J.L. Bryan – 5/5 – review coming on Thursday!

The Wicked Woods by Kelly Apple – 5/5 – special review coming on Friday!

Scorch by Gina Damico – 5/5

The Brokenhearted by Amelia Kahaney – 4/5

The Wicked Wolf by Kelly Apple – 3/5

Fungus of the Heart by Jeremy C. Shipp – 5/5 – review coming next Monday!

—————————————————————————————————————————————————

Overall I’m pretty happy with the reading I got done despite having two days where I didn’t complete a book, one of which I didn’t read altogether. The readathon was a blast as always and I can’t wait to participate in the next Bout of Books as well as plenty of other readathons in the near future. The next semester of college starts today so it is back to the grind, and it is events like this that help me get ahead on the blog, I can’t thank Amanda and Kelly enough! Thanks as always for reading! ^.^

Sunday Post #13

Sunday Post hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer

Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by the amazing Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It is a chance to share news, recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

I love participating in Sunday Post because I can provide a recap of books I read, talk about what is coming up next week, and discuss any books I received in the past week!

Books I Bought

I only bought one book this week, an eBook that just came out on the 5th, The Wicked Wolf by Kelly Apple. The Wicked Wolf by Kelly Apple

This is book two of the Monstrous Tales series, a naughty Adult series with paranormal fantasies. I read book one, The Wicked Woods, as part of an event in the Bout of Books readathon and really liked it so I can’t wait to check out this one too!

You’ll likely be seeing both of them appearing on the blog soon for Frodo’s Frisky Friday. ^.^

I love the Bout of Books read-a-thon, it’s definitely a favorite of mine and probably the best there is for read-a-thons longer than 24hrs. There are always great prizes, fun challenges and of course, the amazing twitter chats! I’ll be visiting my grandma for the majority of the readathon, so I don’t know if I’ll get to as many books as I’d like, but I love it too much to pass completely, so I will try and fit as much reading time as my schedule (and politeness) allows. As always the challenge updates as well as updated stats will be below so look for that, and the books listed are only some of what I may or may not read, enjoy the read-a-thon!

Bout of Books 8.0 Wrap Up

Bout of Books 8.0 Goals

Bout of Books 8.0

I would say this was a pretty successful readathon for me with working 6/7 of the days. I finished three full length books and two novellas and managed to get reviews done for all of them before the readathon finished! Huzzah, progress! Wise Young Fools, Croak and Monstrosities were all fantastic reads and while The Nightmare Affair wasn’t a great read I didn’t dislike it so the reading I did was a lot of fun. Jennifer’s Journal was part of a GLA that occurred during the readathon on Twitter but it doesn’t really fit with the rest, it was funny though. How did you do? Did you read as much as you hoped? More? Less? Are you satisfied regardless? As long as I get more reading in than I otherwise would I feel like these are successes so I’m definitely happy since I stocked up on reviews. See you in January!

There are always great prizes, fun challenges and of course, the amazing twitter chats! I wasn’t sure if I was going to participate in this one simply because work has been killing me lately (this week is light and I’m still working ~45hrs). However, I love it too much to pass completely, so I will try and fit as much reading time as my schedule and my energy levels allow. Because I wasn’t very successful during Dewey’s the list of books I want to read is the same with the only change being The Titan’s Curse by Rick Riordan replacing The Sea of Monsters since I finished that book and can’t wait to move on to the next! As always the challenge updates as well as updated stats will be below so look for that, enjoy the read-a-thon!
