Bout of Books Readathon!
This will be my first read-a-thon of 2013 and I’m psyched to participate! I have 3/7 days off of work (Mon, Wed & Sat) so I will be trying to get even more reading in then I usually do which will also help me get a bit ahead on my 365 Books in 365 Days challenge (so needed). Make sure to sign up if you’d like here! The following is the official Bout of Books blurb which is a great summary of the read-a-thon:
“The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, January 7th and runs through Sunday, January 13th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 6.0 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. – From the Bout of Books 6.0 team”
I already am reading a book a day (to keep up with my challenges of course!) but I will somehow try and read even more than that during this read-a-thon. My specific goals are to get going on my Seriously Series Reading & Key Word Reading Challenges since I haven’t read anything for those and some of the books (especially for the series) are quite long so I need to get a move on. I don’t have a specific amount of books I’ll try to read but I’ll shoot for 10-12 including a couple short prequels. Here is a list of possibilites:
1. The Snow Garden by Christopher Rice
2. Ten by Gretchen McNeil
3. Inheritance by Christopher Paolini
4. Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor
5. Days of Blood and Starlight by Laini Taylor
6. Divergent by Veronica Roth
Black Water (Pendragon Series) by D. J. MacHale
Paper Towns by John Green
9. Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green & David Levithan
Every Day by David Levithan
Looking For Alaska by John Green
Become by Ali Cross
13. Angelfall by Susan Ee
14. Beautiful Creatures by Margaret Stohl & Kami Garcia
15. The Restorer by Amanda Stevens
I will update this as I go but my usual daily posts will continue so you will find reviews of whatever I do end up reading. ^.^

Last Reads of 2012 Readathon
I love readathons! I may be developing a minor obsession with them lately but they really are super fun and they help me get to all of the lovely books stacked around my room (and there are so many o.o). So, I’ll just keep doing them! Besides, this one is being co-hosted by one of my favorite bookish/bloggy friends Eileen of Singing and Reading in the Rain so I HAD to join! ^.^
There aren’t any restrictions for this readathon, you can read anything you’d like, it is simply just for fun and to help with getting the last few books of any challenges you are in read or to catch up on review books if that’s what you are behind on. Personally I’m in the “fun” category, especially considering my lofty challenge to myself coming up next year! Don’t know what I’m talking about? Check out the post here, I’d appreciate it. 🙂
Sound like fun to you? Of course it does! To sign up you click the picture above or this link and join the awesomeness, oh and use the hashtag #LR2012 to participate on Twitter! I almost forgot to mention that there are fun challenges (optional of course) that you can participate in every day and win cool prizes, so make sure to join those too! As for me, I don’t have any specific goals (I know, lame) but I do only work two days this week (Wed. & Fri.) so I have plenty of time to get plenty of awesome bookish goodness in! I will, however, include some of the books I might be working on during the readathon because, well why not?!

Book Club Bash Readathon
So I’m starting this somewhat late (technically it is still the starting day but I am posting at ~6pm my time & I won’t really start reading until tomorrow) but I am going to participate! I’m going to keep this short and sweet for now as I’m exhausted after working a ten hour shift. I will update this as I progress with my usual Read-a-thon format (including snacks!) every so often so look for that if that sort of thing appeals to you. If you want to participate just click the image above and for twitter use the hashtag #bookbash. I use TweetChat for this sort of thing as it is very helpful in keeping up to date with all of the people using said hashtag, just a thought. Oh, and I don’t have any particular goals, but since I have the next three days off (thankfully) I will try to fit in as much reading as possible! I’m currently reading John Green’s The Fault in Our Stars, Julie Kagawa’s The Iron King and Crewel by Gennifer Albin. Have fun, I know I will! ^.^

22 on 22 Read-a-thon
This will be my update post throughout the Read-a-thon so check back here throughout the week to see how I’m doing!
If you read my Sunday Post then you know how crazy this week will be but I will be trying to get a good amount of reading in as there are a ton of books I have that I’d love to read! I won’t set a specific goal though I plan to read a minimum of 10 books and based on their page numbers (of the first ten I plan to read) that only averages out to 452 pages/day, easy! Oh and if you want to interact on twitter use the hashtag #22readathon!
*Took time off on Monday night from 5:45 PM – 10:00 PM CST to have some family time
Here are the first ten I have in mind:
As usual I will be doing the following updates for this read-a-thon:

Books I have completed: Burn For Burn by Jenny Han, Owlet by Emma Michaels
Pages Read: 441
Time spent reading: 5 hrs 35 minutes
Mini Challenges Completed: Reading Habits
Snacks Eaten: Chips & Salsa, Orange Juice (1 cup), Mixed Berry Nutri Grain Bar (1), Dr. Pepper (3 cans), Pretzels
Challenge: Answering general questions about your reading habits.
1. What book did you start reading for this read-a-thon? A: Burn For Burn though I was ~40 pages in
2. What is one of your favorite books to re-read? A: The Lord of the Rings books of course!
3. Do you have a strategy for read-a-thons to maximize your time? A: Not really, I just try to read as much as I can and update hourly if at all possible so I have a general idea of where I’m at.
4. Do you snack while reading? A: As you can see from the list of snacks above I certainly do! I am very careful not to allow any of those snacks to leave residue on the books I read though.
Random Read-A-Thon is hosted by the awesome people over at My Shelf Confessions, if you would like to sign up for this impromptu read-a-thon (that I somehow JUST found out about 😦 ) you can do so here http://www.myshelfconfessions.com/posts/random-read-a-thon-come-read-with-us/, I highly encourage you to do so!
As this is informal and random, and due to my just finding out about it I have no clue how often I will update, hopefully a few times. It started Friday and will end at 12 AM on Tuesday the 23rd. Without further ado, let the read-a-thoning commence! ^.^
*From Noon – 1 PM CST I took a lunch break, pizza is good stuff people 🙂
**From 6 PM – 8:30 PM CST I took a break to be with my family
Book I am currently reading: Owlet by Emma Michaels
Books I have completed: The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater, Burn For Burn by Jenny Han
Pages read: 835
Time spent reading: 10 hours 53 minutes
Mini Challenges Completed: Your Fate in Fiction, Randomly Fill in the Sentence
Snacks Eaten: Mixed Berry Nutri Grain Bars (3), Cherry Coke (2 cans), Dr. Pepper (3 cans), Supreme Pizza, Orange Juice (1 cup), Chips & Salsa
Your Fate in Fiction
Challenge: If your life were to suddenly (very randomly) turn into a plot from any book you’ve either read or want to read in the future, which plot would you hope it turned out to be and why?
Response: I would want it to turn into the plot from the Pendragon series by D. J. MacHale. Bobby (the main character) does have to go through a lot of emotional and physical pain at different points in the series but he gets to travel across time and various dimensions/other worlds which is awesome. It may not be a “perfect” life to live but it would be incredible and Bobby learns a lot about himself along the way. ^.^
Randomly Fill in the Sentence
Challenge: Keeping things random and simple, we just want you to finish the following sentence from Speak with a random sentence on a random page from your current read!
