Sunday Post #21

Sunday Post hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer

Sunday Post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by the amazing Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It is a chance to share news, recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead.

I love participating in Sunday Post because I can provide a recap of books I read, talk about what is coming up next week, and discuss any books I received in the past week!

This week I bought a few things from Amazon including two incredibly huge books!

So this week was a bit of a weird one for me. I read one of the best series I have ever come across in the Elemental Series by Brigid Kemmerer, but I also had the 2nd DNF of the year in Mind Games which I had been looking forward to. The week reading wise was a cliche of highs and lows and roller coasters, but overall I think it was a positive one especially when adding in the gains I made on my reading challenges since this was my most productive reading week by a good bit.

The books I received are amazing, specifically the ones by Brandon Sanderson. That is epic fantasy at its most glorious and I can’t wait to experience those worlds and the vast amount of characters and inner stories that are sure to be included along with the amazing artwork that I already took a peak at. I don’t know when I will get to them since they are so freaking long, but it will be an experience to be sure.

In the coming week I clearly have quite a few books to choose from that I might review, and I think I do have an idea of what will be the mini review for Monday, but you’ll have to stop by to find out. I’m such a tease. ^.^ My biggest thing that I am looking forward to is the readathon being hosted by the lovely host of this very feature, Kimberly! Ides of March Readathon is from the 13th to the 17th of this coming week and it happens to fall during my college’s spring break, huzzah! If I can even come close to the reading I did this last week I will be stoked. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your Sunday!

  2. Jessica @ a GREAT read

Ooh nice haul! Yeah, it’s a bummer when an anticipated read becomes a DNF. That was Mind Games by Kiersten White, right? Remember reading that one as an ARC and liked it, but didn’t love it like I had hoped. Oh well. Hope you have better luck this week with your reads!

  3. I can tell you liked the Elemental series – holy rip through a series!!! I still need to read her 😦

I think you might have an even better week next week with Sanderson – he’s just classic for the high fantasy genre!!! Enjoy!!

  4. DNFs disappoint me more than anything else. I get so excited by new books that it hits me hard when they aren’t very good. Stopping by from The Sunday Post (old follower).

  5. Nice haul. I hope that you enjoy them. DNF are the worst, especially when it is a book that you are so excited for. Happy reading.

  6. I just put down a book this weekend so I understand how you feel about the DNFs. It was my second attempt at the book, but after 184 pages it just wasn’t worth sticking with. Have a good week!
