Waiting on Wednesday #12

Waiting On Wednesday hosted by Breaking The Spine

“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by the fantastic people over at Breaking The Spine that highlights upcoming releases that we are excited about.

For this week my pre-publication selection that I can’t wait for is:

The Unbound (The Archived #2) by Victoria Schwab

Set For Release On: January 28th, 2014

Summary From Goodreads

Imagine a place where the dead rest on shelves like books. Each body has a story to tell, a life seen in pictures that only Librarians can read. The dead are called Histories, and the vast realm in which they rest is the Archive.

Last summer, Mackenzie Bishop, a Keeper tasked with stopping violent Histories from escaping the Archive, almost lost her life to one. Now, as she starts her junior year at Hyde School, she’s struggling to get her life back. But moving on isn’t easy — not when her dreams are haunted by what happened. She knows the past is past, knows it cannot hurt her, but it feels so real, and when her nightmares begin to creep into her waking hours, she starts to wonder if she’s really safe.

Meanwhile, people are vanishing without a trace, and the only thing they seem to have in common is Mackenzie. She’s sure the Archive knows more than they are letting on, but before she can prove it, she becomes the prime suspect. And unless Mac can track down the real culprit, she’ll lose everything, not only her role as Keeper, but her memories, and even her life. Can Mackenzie untangle the mystery before she herself unravels?

With stunning prose and a captivating mixture of action, romance, and horror, The Unbound delves into a richly imagined world where no choice is easy and love and loss feel like two sides of the same coin.

I’ve mentioned The Unbound quite a bit lately including yesterday’s Top Ten Tuesday as one of my most anticipated winter reads. I really enjoyed The Archived and I’m so excited to read The Unbound when it comes out on the 28th of January! I plan to review it the day of so if you want a fresh opinion on it feel free to stop by that day. ^.^ Victoria Schwab is amazing, both as an author and, of course, as a person, and I love how much recognition she got for Vicious. I urge people to check out The Archived if you haven’t already and you’ll have plenty of time before The Unbound comes out to get as excited as I am!

Does The Unbound appeal to you? Are you as excited as I am for it? What book are you “Waiting On”? Let me know in the comments and/or leave a link to your own WoW post and I will make sure to stop by! Thanks for checking out my Waiting On Wednesday! ^.^

    • I’m hearing that a lot lately! I think Schwab’s Vicious being the hit that it is has opened the door for more people to check out The Archived that didn’t know about it previously. I hope you enjoy it when you get to it! ^.^

  7. That cover looks really cool. I still have to read the first book but I think this might be one of those series where I wait for all the books to be done and out.

    • Spoken like someone who hasn’t read The Archived. 😛 It would leave you pining like the rest of us that have already read it, but I completely understand waiting on the series. I’m sure you have a mountainous TBR just like I do. ^.^ Thanks for stopping by again!
